About
Mariama Ndure is an acclaimed performer and musician making waves in the Norwegian art scene. A daughter of Gambian immigrants, Mariama’s diverse upbringing in Norway has greatly influenced her artistry, allowing her to blend the rich tapestry of her cultural heritage with elements of jazz, hip hop, soul, and improvisation.
Her debut album, "Rituals," was released on October 18th, 2024. It reflects the journey of reclaiming her voice and identity while honoring her ancestral roots. In it, Mariama draws upon the multitude of her cultural background, creating a unique blend of West African traditions, jazz and contemporary improvisation.
Mariama is an active performer, composer and educator, touring extensively around Norway and participating in Oslo’s vibrant art scene. She has collaborated with renowned artists such as Sandra Mujinga, Mia Habib, Rohey Talaah, Becaye Aw, Nosizwe Baqwa, Xander Crook, and Amie Mbye.
Through her music and performances, Mariama invites listeners on a transformative journey of self-discovery and cultural celebration.
